Alleppey Region

Sebastian and Mary are one of the most deserving families in their region. The only means of earnings for this poor family are Sebastian’s irregular earnings as a paid laborer in a fishing boat. If the fishing is good, he gets a small share of the earnings, otherwise he must bear part of the cost for the trip. It is an unreliable source of income and the entire family is malnourished. Mary is unable to go for any work even in the midst of struggles and starvation as she is suffering from a prolapsed disc.

The couple have three children. Their only son is studying in the 3rd grade. They also have twin three-year-old daughters. One suffers from hydrocephalus, an enlargement of head due to fluid collecting inside the brain. She has undergone surgery to help with the condition but her head is enlarged and she cannot lift it up on her own. Sebastian and Mary have to hold her head in their hands while they are taking her in arms.

Sebastian’s mother is also under his care. She is a mental patient and requires strict medication.

The family has no means even for their daily survival and the expensive medical requirements burdening them. They are staying in an old small tiled house which needs repairs. There is no not proper kitchen so they food in a temporary shed.

Altogether this family is facing utter misery and starvation and looking for a kind assistance to ease their struggles.
