Mariamma was stricken with polio at birth and is always been paralyzed from the waist down. Her hands are also deformed. Despite this handicaps, Joshy fell in love with her and they married and had two sons. All was well until Joshy began to have terrible headaches and was diagnosed with bi-polar disorder. He is no longer able to work.
The family is in desperate need of help. Mariamma is unable to work and the family relies upon neighbors for some food to eat. There is no money for medicine for them. They live in a rented house and are facing eviction as they are missing too many rent payments.
Their two sons have worked hard in school but are in a terrible situation. Abhishek completed 12 grade but is unable to continue with advanced studies because of the family’s situation. Amal is in the 11th grade but faces a similar fate unless a sponsor can be found.
