Gantada Rani is a widow who lives below the poverty line in Ontimamidi, Thondangi in the East Godavari District. A member of the Scheduled Caste, she seeks our love and assistance in this crucial moment of the life of her family. They live in a remote village area where there no possibilities of odd jobs or public transportation to reach the nearest town to find coolie works. The family has no land or a house of their own and at present stay in the home of one of Rani’s relatives. Her husband, Gantada Apparao, passed away two years ago.
Rani has two children. Sreelatha, aged 10, is in 3rd grade and Prasanth, aged 6, is studying in 2nd grade. Sreelatha takes care of her younger brother if Rani is away. The two children are studying in a nearby Government school where they get midday meals on school days. However, due to the Covid virus lock down, schools have not yet started functioning this year. Rani is HIV positive (as was her husband) and her health is not good. She worries about the future of her children.
This family is in urgent need of a helping hand. With the help of a sponsor, Rani could be part of FFA’s resource development program and she would be able to raise chickens and goats and have a source of steady income. Through the generosity of a sponsor, funds for food and medicine would be received. Rani will be ever grateful if any one willingly comes forward to give a helping hand.
