Nagasathyavathi and Lahhababu Bathina are a poor couple living in the remote village of Latchireddipalem in East Godavari with two sons: Charkadhar, aged 13, is studying in 8th grade and Chandrasekhar, aged 7, is attending in a local Government Kindergarten school.

Nagasathyavathi is in desperate need of a sponsor. Her husband, Lahhababu, contracted HIV while working as a contractor and transmitted the disease to her. Now he is suffering greatly and no longer able to work. Nagasathyayathi is also becoming weaker but works as she can as a domestic servant in nearby homes.

While both receive free medical care from the Government, their overall conditions are dire. They live on a small property in a thatched one room house with a small kitchen, electricity and toilet; their source of water is a nearby public water facilities. Nagasathyavathi struggles to meet the basic needs of their children. Chandrasekhar is often sick. She and Lahhababu also have responsibility for Lahhababu’s elderly mother who is ill and lives with them.

Their one bright spot is Charkadhar who manages to do well in school despite their poor living condtions. However, his future is questionable. The family has been rejected by other family members except one brother who gives a little if he can manage. They are in desperate need of support. With the help of a sponsor and the venture capital that FFA provides with sponsorship, Nagasathyayathi would like to run a shop and gradually be able to provide more for her family. Any help given to them will be greatly appreciated.
