Bonita and Sunned have worked hard all their lives to support their family but illness is an increasing issue in the family. You can read more of their story below.
Bonita would love to begin a small home-based business to grow their income while she cared for their newborn son. With the support of a sponsor, she could do this through the FFA’s Resource program. (To learn more about the Andhra Family Sponsorship program, click here.)

Family Members:
Bonita Berro, 35 years
Sunned Berro, 39 years, husband
Chandhini Berro, 13 years, daughter
Nadine Berro, 9 years, daughter
Remus Berro, 5 years, daughter
New Baby, son
Andhra Region
The Berro family have everything. They have happiness in being together as a family, with three young daughters and a new baby son. They have hope that their children will be successful in life, and they work hard to send them to the local schools to ensure they receive a good education.
But, they also have fear. They live in poverty and deal with ongoing illness, which threatens to change everything they have and hope for. Husband Suneel’s repeated malaria infections have compromised his health, making it difficult for him to work in the local industries. Wife Bonita also works, but as a woman she is paid less than a man; this is the policy in their area.
This leaves the family without enough money to put food on the table. The parents will go without food and medicine to keep their children fed, but how long can it last? They are sliding down a slope towards a dark future.
This family would benefit immediately from the support of a sponsor. With assistance, they could start a small home-based business to provide a steady income. Sunned could receive medications to improve his health, and allow him to see his children grow up well-nourished and educated. This family has done everything they can to improve their own lives, but support from a sponsor can help them go from surviving to thriving.
