The family of Jiji Sunil

Jiji is a poor widow unable to support her two teenage children since the unexpected death of her husband.

With the support of a sponsor, Jiji would have a steady stream of funds that would help cover medication, daily living expenses and educational needs until the children are old enough to support their mother. Please read the story below for more information on this deserving family.

This is a destitute family urgently in need of a sponsor for their survival.  Jiji is a poor widow who lost her husband on 6th February 2023.  Prior to February 6, Sunil was a fisherman who supported his small family very well through his fishing. The family lead a contented life.

On that fateful day Sunil went fishing as usual with his co-workers. While at sea he had a severe seizure and collapsed.  His co-workers could not get him to shore in time and Sunil breathed his last breath in the fishing boat.  The family did receive compensation, which Jiji deposited in the bank for the future needs of her children. Those funds will be paid to the children as they reach adult age.

Presently, Jiji has no way to pay for her children’s education or to meet their daily needs. She is sickly and cannot go for any work.  A few months back she fell while walking and hit her head. Although she seemed okay at the time of the fall, she later began having frequent severe headaches and cramps. It was found that she had injured many cranial nerves in the fall and now required constant medication for relief, something which the family can ill afford.

The family lives in a single roomed house.  They were selected for a government grant for house construction but could not complete the work due to lack of finance. And so, they find themselves in need of a kind sponsor for their daily survival, medication and other urgent needs.
