The family of Regi and Manoj

This poor couple live with their three children in one room in a community property and share toilet and bath facilities with 40 other families. As their girls age, it is an unsafe environment for them to live in.

With your sponsorship, the couple would not only have a steady stream of support for feeding their children but could work towards moving to a safer place to live. To learn more about our sponsorship program, look here.

Regi and Manoj are a poor couple with three daughters. The only means of earnings for the family is Manoj’s irregular earnings. He goes for cooking works in a hotel and earns too little to fulfill the daily needs of the family. Regi stays at home caring for their 3 year old daughter and doing household chores.

Their three daughters are the gem of the parents and the oldest two are progressing with their school studies. The eldest daughter, Sandriva, is studying in the 9th grade and the second daughter, Seneritta, is in the 7th grade.

The family’s life is really sad as they have no regular earnings to sustain their life. The whole family seems pale and weak due to malnutrition. Starvation is their constant companion and often the children’s only meal of the day is the lunch provided at their school.

The future of their growing daughters is always a worry for these poor parents as they do not even have a house of their own. They are staying along with Manoj’s younger brother in a community settlement. Regi, Manoj and their three daughters have a single room for all their needs and an outside kitchen to cook food. There is only a common toilet and bathing facility for forty houses and it is not a safe place to stay with grown up daughters. But in their poverty,  the family has no other option for a place to live.

The help of a sponsor would be an answer to their prayers.
