Alleppey Region

The Henry family lives near the city of Alleppey in the Indian state of Kerala. This family of six is currently surviving on the income of just one person, 38-year-old Thomas. He supports his wife, three young daughters, and his aging mother as a construction mason assistant. The work is hard and unreliable. Thomas’ wife, Mary Jasmine, stays home to care for the other family members.

The daughters are 11, 7, and 5, and attend the local school. Sadly, some days the lunchtime meal at school is the only food the children receive. The entire family is malnourished. This includes Thomas’ mother, who also suffers from increasing health issues.

On top of all this, the small concrete structure that this family calls home is badly in need of repairs. Between their failing shelter, persistent hunger, and mounting health concerns, this family is teetering on the edge of survival. They would benefit immediately from the support a sponsor could provide. The stability of a reliable income would allow them to receive nutritious food, medical care, and support to make their home happy for years to come.
