Padma is a member of the unique Savara tribal community that lives and farms on government-owned land in Andhra Pradesh. She and her husband were living in a remote hillside village with their two young children when he left for work one morning and never returned. Padma could find no information about his fate, and to this day does not know anything about the circumstances of his disappearance.
Despite her heartbreaking situation Padma set to work raising her two young children herself. The FFA staff reports that she makes no complaints despite the family’s condition. Padma suffers from medical issues but cannot afford to travel to receive treatment or medications. She lives in a dilapidated structure with a precarious roof that provides no security. Her children are enrolled at school, and work hard in hopes of making a better life for their families.
The FFA staff would like to assist Padma in purchasing a small number of livestock that would provide a reasonable income for the family. A sponsor would enable this to happen.
