Antony and his wife Sabitha live in a small fishing village in Kerala with their two beautiful young daughters. For many years Antony was able to support the family through his hard work as a fisherman. He brought his elderly mother to live with the family, and Sabitha stayed home caring for her and their children. Their house was a poor one, but loving and stable.

Then, in 2013, tragedy struck this young family. Antony was severely injured while at work in an accident involving one of his hands. The hand was so badly damaged that surgeons had to stabilize the injury with a permanent steel rod. After many days in the hospital Antony was released, but despite his best efforts he has never recovered the use of his hand. With this disability he can no longer work as a fisherman and no one will hire him for manual labor. Sabitha has taken up a job as a cleaning woman to help make ends meet, but without Antony’s income the family struggles. His mother grows older and requires more medical care, and the girls continued to advance through their studies, but the family does no know what the future holds.
