Recently he began to rare pigs while Durga sells fancy articles. She carries the articles and tries to sell door to door in the village houses to earn something to meet their daily needs.
Durga and Apparna have five children who are boys. The eldest three boys are going to the nearby Government School where they are studying in the 7th 4th and 3rd grade respectively. Appanna goes to local Aganwadi (kindergarten) and Kartheek is only a baby of 2 years old.
Durga and Apparna have no land or house of their own. They were staying in a rented house but in their pathetic life situation they now live in the paternal house of Apparna. His mother who is a widow accepts them. His brother and family also are staying in the same house. The house, built by his brother with the help of a Government subsidy, is not completed. It consists of two rooms and veranda. They do not have a kitchen or toilets and as per custom they cook outside in the open place. House is electrified as per village system. Public water facilities are available near to their house.
If any one stretches their hand to give a helping hand to sponsor this family they could start a small business of sale of rice and enjoy the rare privileges offered by the FFA to reach the goal of self-reliance. This rare offer will turn into a blessing to this family to earn their livelihood and reach self reliance in future. They could live a life with human dignity.
