Ravada Nagaraju is one of the unfortunate widows in the village where she lives. Ravada is the family name. She belongs to a schedule caste. Her husband was a coolie worker. Lack of nutritious support and not taking proper medications, he became very sick. He suffered severe chest problems, difficulty to breath and unable to take any food. Nagaraju took up the responsibility of caring for the family. Two years ago her husband passed away.

Nagaraju is also HIV positive and unable to do any heavy work. She works as domestic servant. She has three children, one girl and two boys. The eldest daughter, Anusha, aged sixteen, is studying in 9th grade in the nearby government school. Rajesh and Kishore, who are aged 11 and 10 respectively, are studying in 7th and 5th grade.

The family lives in a waste land. The walls of their hut are made of mud. It is roofed with palm leaves which require yearly maintenance and are expensive to afford. It consists of two rooms. Cooking is done outside the house in open area. House is electrified in a village system. Government provides public water convenience for the villagers. They have no toilet facilities.

Nagaraju has a great responsibility to care and give a life to her growing children. With the help of a sponsor, she could sell rice and necessary food stuffs and enjoy the rare privilege offered by the FFA to reach the goal of self-reliance.  The family could recoup their health and live a life with human dignity. She will be ever grateful if any one willingly comes forward to give a helping hand.
